New building regulations aimed at curbing the unacceptable number of deaths, injuries and house fires caused by faulty electrical installations, came into force on 1 January 2005.
These rules affect anyone considering electrical work in the home, including DIY enthusiasts. Failure to comply could lead to householders being required to bring the work up to standard and may make it more difficult to sell their homes.

Woosh provides a professional advice, installation and project management service to a range of clients including homeowners, companies, schools and community groups. Helping with all aspects of an installation, from identifying funding assistance and negotiating planning permission to selling surplus energy back to the grid, Woosh aims to promote the uptake of renewable technologies in the region. Woosh is currently working with Quernmore Primary School and have helped them secure 80% grant funding for a wind turbine, which will be installed in Autumn 2007.
