The best and easiest place to find out about the local pubs and the
beers they serve is from the Lunesdale
CAMRA website maintained by local phytophile (hairy) Martin Sherlock.
A list of pubs serving food in Lancaster can be found in our eating
out guide. Below is a round-up (not remotely comprehensive tho) of popular local pubs & clubs
- some have rooms for hire for private functions. If you are looking
for gigs etc you'll find them in our what's
on calendar and regular events page.
We don't advertise drinks promotions but if we become aware of a problematic shortage of inebriates locally we may review this policy.

I've also found excellent DJs and some very happy dancers by
the decks. I've also been flashed at there - eeyuch! Take backup
and play wisely. Dancefloor is packed most nights but Sunday,
when upstairs is closed. On the plus side the A/C is excellent."

John
Freeman writes
(05/06): "One of Lancaster's last "old-fashioned" pubs, i.e it
hasn't had its innards ripped out and replaced with plastic and
crap lager pumps. The only nod to the 21st century is, possibly
the hand dryers in the toilets, but we'll let Kevin off that
one, 'cos we like him.
Simply because this pub hasn't been wrecked by some idiot designer's
idea of a pub, this is a down to earth place with pleasant landlady-chosen
decor, well kept beer and good guest beers, and a commitment to
live music and other live events that is hard to equal or beat.
Simply one of Lancaster's best pubs."

John Freeman writes (05/06): "Nipped
here a 40th birthday party recently, great pub with an Internet
jukebox not adverse to playing Frank Sidebottom. Beer range is
basic but fine, atmosphere is great, plus it's got a beer garden
and function room. Worth trying a darn sight better than some
other Morecambe pubs.
